Hillsboro’s Litzsinger makes milestones in wrestling Dream Team finale

(Hillsboro) Dalton Litzsinger finishes his time with the Hillsboro Hawks as perhaps the program’s most accomplished wrestler.

The school’s career record holder for wins and pins makes the Regional Radio Dream Team yet again after finishing third in the state in Class 3 at 182 pounds.

It’s the third state medal of fourth place or better for Litzsinger, but while he’s appreciative of the honors, he’s ready to continue wrestling in college.

Litzsinger won his fourth district championship during a 43-7 senior season.

He’s been wrestling basically his whole life, and he says what turned him into a star was winning the mind games.

Over the course of his 177 wins at Hillsboro, Litzsinger says a few people were with him every step of the way, starting with head coach Matt Mitchell.

Litzsinger joins junior teammate Gavin Alexander as Hillsboro wrestlers with multiple Dream Team selections and is one of 4 Hawks to make the boys’ squad this season.
