Iron County & Doe Run Company Continue Tax Fight

(Iron County) We told you earlier in the year about the major cuts in funding the Viburnum School District is expected to receive from the Doe Run Company after the lead mining company protested their taxes.

Iron County Presiding Commissioner Jim Scaggs says not only will the Viburnum school be impacted in a major way but many other services the county provides will also be impacted.

However, Commissioner Scaggs says Iron County will not go down without a fight.

Scaggs names the several Iron County entities Doe Run Company’s tax protest will affect.

Commissioner Scaggs says it could be several more months until a final decision on the matter is made.
