It Was An Extremely Hot July For The Listening Area

The month of July was extremely hot for the listening area and a surprising amount of rain showed up in the final week of the month. The average high temperature was 94.2 degrees which is 4.5 degrees higher than a normal July and the average low was almost 5 degrees higher than normal at 69.2 degrees. No record highs were set despite hitting triple digits multiple times throughout the month. There was very little rain last month until Monday, July 25th. The listening area received 3.71 inches of rain over the final week, accounting for 69% of the month’s total rainfall of 5.37 inches. The amount of rain that came down over the final week is just 9/100 of an inch less than an average amount of rain for the month of July.
