James Hardie road infrastructure open house goes over well

(Jefferson County) The open house at the Jefferson R-7 Performing Arts Center on the high school campus went well last week and was well attended. The open house was to share thoughts and concerns about the future infrastructure work for the James Hardie manufacturing plant planned for the old airport property in Crystal City. Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon says much of the plans and ideas were shared with the public.

Gannon says residents who have concerns were able to speak with the engineers assigned to the projects.

Gannon says one of the phases of the infrastructure work will be along Castle Acres Road which is located just north of the I-55 and Highway 61 exit.

Gannon says bids for the roadwork on Castle Acres Road could be sent out next month or soon after that in early 2024. Several other area roads that will see changes with this project are Airport Road just south of Mercy Hospital Jefferson as well as St. Pius Drive leading into VFW Drive as well and other major intersections.
