Jefferson County History Museum is on the move

(Jefferson County) The Jefferson County Heritage & Historical Society museum is moving locations.

The museum, which is currently located in the First United Methodist Church in Festus, will be moving into the building currently operated by the Victoria United Methodist Church located at 5321 Chouteau Avenue outside of De Soto.

Bernard Laiben is the historical society president.

He says following the church’s final service on May 29th, they will begin the process of settling into their new location.

The museum had been open every Thursday night from 6 until 8 and was open for the last time at its Festus location this past Thursday.

The history museum will now be closed until the move is complete.

Laiben says he hopes to have the new location open sometime in July or perhaps later this summer.
