(Hillsboro) Precautions are being taken by members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office concerning the threat of a Caronavirus outbreak. Captain Andy Sides says they are keeping the jail facility as clean and disinfected as possible.

Captain Sides says they continue to ask anyone booked into the jail, and any visitors if they have visited other countries recently. He also says the office has recently met with members of the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency.

Captain Sides says they also placed an order for additional rubber gloves that are normally used for crime scene investigations and the handling of evidence.

So far, there have been no positive cases of Caronavirus or Covid-19 in Jefferson County.
