Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office purchasing a new S.W.A.T. vehicle

(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is in the process of adding an additional S.W.A.T. and emergency response vehicle. Earlier this week, Sheriff Dave Marshak made a trip to Pittsfield, Massachusetts to the Lenco headquarters where they construct armored vehicles. Sheriff Marshak says it was a very quick visit to look over one of their models.

Sheriff Marshak says these types of vehicles are a must-have when it comes to dangerous situations.

Sheriff Marshak says when these vehicles pull up to a standoff situation, in many cases the suspects will surrender due to the intimidation factor, and no harm is inflicted to anyone.

The new Lenco armored vehicle is expected to be delivered sometime this week.
