(FESTUS) Jefferson R-7 senior softball player Abi Chipps tied the Missouri state record for singles in a career on Monday in a Blue Jays win over Valley Park. Her 184th single tied Audrey Glenski of Bishop LeBlond and Cheyenne Pratt of Festus for 1st all-time in Missouri.

Abi walks us through the moments leading up to the hit that tied the record.

Abi admits that she didn’t know she was close to tying the record until very recently but thought it was funny and cool that most of her teammates did.

As for thinking that a moment like this was possible when she started playing varsity softball as a freshman?

Abi Chipps can set the record for most singles in a career with her first at-bat against Saxony Lutheran in the first round of the Class 2 District 2 softball tournament on Wednesday at 2 p.m. The tournament is being played at Kelly High School.
