Jefferson’s Breier blasts into first volleyball Dream Team

(Festus) Jefferson Blue Jays junior Emma Breier has been building towards this moment.

Her grind to become one of the best volleyball players in the state is paying off, as she makes the Regional Radio Dream Team.

Breier piled up 367 kills, 223 dig and a team-high 46 blocks during an all-state season.

But she says this particular honor is a long time coming.

Breier proved to be one of the most efficient outside hitters in Class 2, posting a hit average over .300 and a kill average over .400.

To post high numbers like that, Breier says hitting becomes more a thought process than just brute strength.

Breier is joined by fellow juniors Ava Roth, Paige Siebert and Kirstyn Loyd on the Dream Team after guiding the Blue Jays to a single-season school record for wins and a third-place finish in the state.

But she says she wouldn’t have gotten there without some other special people.

Breier is already third all-time at Jefferson in kills after earning all-district honors for a second straight season and all-conference for a third.
