Jefferson’s Fish named Dream Team Volleyball Coach of the Year

(Festus) In a season like no other in program history, Tara Fish lead the Jefferson Blue Jays to 33 wins and a third-place finish in the state in Class 2 volleyball.

She can now add Regional Radio Dream Team Coach of the Year to her list of accolades.

Fish guided Jefferson to its first conference championship, its second district title and its first trip to the Final 4.

But despite all the success, she’s still floored by the honors from her peers.

Fish saw 4 of her players – juniors Kirstyn Loyd, Ava Roth, Emma Breier and Paige Siebert – not only earn all state, but also make the Dream Team.

She says these girls got to such great heights because they never settle for less.

But it’s not just the players; Fish believes she is part of a special community at Jefferson.

The Blue Jays’ 33 wins this season are 9 more than the previous single-season school record.
