Jefferson’s Loyd makes more history with volleyball Dream Team selection

(Festus) Kirstyn Loyd is working on a legacy like few others left behind for Jefferson Blue Jays volleyball.

The junior is setting records every time she hits the floor, and her latest honor is the Regional Radio Dream Team.

Loyd finished with the second-most kills in the state in Class 2, piling up a school record of 472 this season.

But for her, those type of accomplishments mean she is literally checking items off the list.

Loyd is already the owner of the most career kills by a Blue Jay with 759.

But she also managed to stuff the stat sheet with 71 aces, 42 blocks and 312 digs.

She says posting those type of gaudy numbers and climbing to the top of the record books was all part of the plan.

Loyd had a good supporting cast, as junior teammates Ava Roth, Emma Breier and Paige Siebert also made the Dream Team.

Jefferson won a school-record 33 matches and finished third in Class 2.

Loyd says everyone in her life had a hand in this special season.

Along with a third straight all-conference selection, Loyd was named the JCAA Small-School Division Player of the Year.
