Jefferson’s Roth shines bright again but adds volleyball Dream Team to resume

(Festus) Jefferson Blue Jays junior Ava Roth is quickly becoming one of the premier outside hitters in Missouri high school volleyball.

Her second straight season with all-state honors also includes a selection to the Regional Radio Dream Team.

Roth piled up 306 kills and was second in Class 2 with a school-record 82 aces.

She also was a dominant defensive force, finishing with 445 digs and 542 serve receptions.

But for all the honors she’s piling up, Roth says one from the coaches is particularly sweet.

Roth was a big reason why Jefferson won a school-record 33 matches and finished third in the state in Class 2.

But she had some serious help, as fellow junior Paige Siebert, Kirstyn Loyd and Emma Breier also made the Dream Team.

She says, with that many great players on one team, the key to success is working well together.

But it’s not just teammates that Roth thanks for helping her and the Blue Jays have a memorable season.

Roth reached her 1,000th career dig this season and is also already fourth all-time at Jefferson in kills.
