Kalie Thompson Takes Home Dream Team Honors Before Heading To Maryville

(Potosi) During her junior year, Kalie Thompson threw discuss with a complete tear in her shoulder and still managed to finish fourth at the state meet. She got surgery in the offseason, went undefeated in the regular season, finished third in the state and was voted onto the Regional Radio Girls Track and Field Dream Team. Thompson is very goal-oriented, and making the Dream Team was on that list.

Another one of Thompson’s goals was to win the Class Three state championship in discuss. Her best throw went 117 feet and seven inches, good for third place, but nine inches less than her championship throw at the sectional meet. Thompson felt she had more in her.

Thompson holds the Potosi High School record with a throw of 125 feet and one inch.

Thompson is heading to Division Two Maryville University in Twon and Country. She tells us what her initial goals are.

Thompson is planning to get her doctorate in physical therapy.
