Kaydence Gibson To Continue Pole Vaulting Career At Mineral Area College

(Potosi) Kaydence Gibson will leave Potosi High School and head to Mineral Area College in Park Hills to continue her pole vaulting career. The senior recently set her sights on becoming a college athlete and loved everything that Mineral Area College had to offer.

Gibson qualified for the state sectional meet by having a vault of eight-feet-five-and-a-quarter inch at districts on May 13th. Her personal record is nine feet. Gibson says she had a long night before the district meet in Cape Girardeau.

Gibson has been pole vaulting since she was in seventh grade.

Gibson was one of seven Potosi seniors to graduate suma cum laude. She’ll get into nursing while at Mineral Area College. The MAC women’s track & field team finished in fifth place at the NJCAA Division Three National Championships this season.
