Kingston’s Cody Yates is Athlete of the Week
(CADET) Cody Yates of the Kingston Cougars boys basketball team is this week’s Regional Radio/Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week. Last week, Yates hit another career milestone as he’s become only the fourth boys basketball plater in MSHSAA history to score 2000 points. Yates tells us about the feeling of making the milestone.

In addition to scoring his 2000th point, Yates averaged 20.7 PPG, 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 3.3 steals during the week. He’s consistently been a factor in the scoring column for the Cougars, but also says the team’s mindset has helped them find success this season.

Kingston head coach Paul Hamilton tells us about Yates’ impact on the team.

For being named Athlete of the week, Yates will receive a t-shirt, certificate, and a voucher for a free entrée from Applebee’s in Farmington.
