Known Car Thief Arrested after Allegedly Stealing Another Vehicle from Pevely Residence

(Pevely) A Pevely man who is a known vehicle thief to law enforcement was arrested once again on March 31 after he allegedly stole another vehicle from a Pevely residence and then lead Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies in a vehicle pursuit.

Pevely Police Captain Larry Miller says the incident started around 8:43 in the evening on March 31 when a victim in the 400 block of Elm Street reported her 2018 GMC Terrain being taken.

Pevely Police were later notified that Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies were involved in a pursuit with the stolen vehicle and successfully used spike strips to stop the GMC Terrain without incident along with arresting the 22-year-old suspect.

The official name of the Pevely man has not been released pending formal charges from the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

The stolen vehicle was towed and later released back to the owner with only damaged tires.
