Late Death Reported in Washington County Crash

(Old Mines) A second person has died from injuries suffered in a two vehicle accident that happened last Friday night in Washington County, where icy roads were to blame.

23-year-old Jacob William Andrea of Cadet lost his life due to his injuries Saturday at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis.

54-year-old Douglas Andrea of Cadet died at the scene of the crash.

He was driving Ford Ranger that Jacob Andrea was a passenger in, when he lost control at about 7:30 Friday night on an icy Highway 21 at Goldenrod Road.

His pickup began to spin out of control, went into the other lane and was struck by an 18-wheeler.

The two individuals in the big rig received minor injuries.
