Local fire agencies busy with an influx in fire calls

(Jefferson County) Firefighters in Jefferson County were kept busy last Friday responding to various fire calls in the county.

Fire crews with the High Ridge Fire Protection District responded to a residential fire in the 1500 block of Pecan Court in High Ridge.

High Ridge fire Chief John Barton says they received the call around 1:30pm.

The blaze was under control within an hour of firefighters arriving.

Chief Barton adds there was quite a bit of damage to the back side of the house.

The residents are receiving help from the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire according to Chief Barton is ruled undetermined but not suspicious.

In a separate fire, firefighters with the Hillsboro Fire Protection District were called to the River Trails subdivision off Route C and White Road just shortly after 4pm last Friday for an outbuilding/barn fire.

The owner of the property was not on scene when the fire occurred and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is ruled undetermined but not suspicious.

Hillsboro fire was assisted by Cedar Hill and De Soto Rural Fire Protection District’s.

Valle Ambulance was on scene to provide any medical treatment.
