MAC Men Bolster Roster

(Park Hills, Mo.) The Mineral Area College mens basketball team will return at least four players from their 2019-2020 squad that went 30-2. Luke Strege and his staff are also working hard to bring more impact players to the Park Hills campus.

After a year away from hoops Jamir Price is looking to restart his basketball playing days at Mineral Area College. The 6’3″ guard out of Rock Island, Illinois originally signed with Bradley University, but some family concerns sidetracked him. He’s now ready to make an impact for the Cardinals…

The success of the MAC program caught his attention…

Price averaged 14.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and nearly three assists per game as a high school senior and earned all state recognition in Illinois.
Mineral Area College coach Luke Strege says it’s a great match between player and program…

Price saw the Cardinals play during the recruiting process and he liked what he saw….

The Cardinals will also welcome two players from Mehlville High School. One of those is Lamontay Daugherty. Coach Strege describes his talent.

An all state honoree Daugherty says he’s a high motor player.

Daugherty says he was sold on the program when he attended the Cardinals’ practice.

Mehlville went 22-6 this past season and lost to Chaminade in the Class 5 state quarterfinals.
The other player from Mehlville didn’t actually get to play on their team. Ruferse Escoe is a transfer from Costa Rica who wasn’t eligible to compete. But the 6’7″ guard will definitely compete for the Cardinals..

Roof played for the Costa Rican youth national team.
Coach Strege says he hopes to sign four or five more players before the beginning of next season.
