MAC Volleyball Wins Opener

(Park Hills) After having their fall season postponed to the spring semester the Mineral Area College volleyball team opened the year with a win at home 3-1 over Northeast Oklahoma A&M at the Bob Sechrest Fieldhouse in Park Hills on KREI. MAC went up seven points in the first set, but saw NEO close to within a point with a 7-1 run. The Cardinals closed the set up 25-22. The only setback for the Cardinals came in the second set when they fell 21-25. However MAC rebounded with a 25-22 win in set three…

MAC clinched the match in the forth 25-17. The Cardinals held a size advantage, but MAC coach Tim Copeland respected how much the Golden Norse made them work…

Alayna Rooks led the Cardinals with 14 kills and three blocks.
MAC has a week off from matches before they host Vincennes next Saturday.
