MAC’s Masyn McWilliams to SIUE

(Park Hills) Playing in the shadow of a first team All American last year, Masyn McWilliams turned in a solid, but perhaps not spectacular freshman season for the Mineral Area College Cardinals. After seeing the work Holly Forbes put in, Masyn McWilliams, returned for her sophomore season ready to make that leap into the leadership position. While All America teams have yet to be announced from the NJCAA, McWilliams turned in the type of campaign that could very well land her on that list…

McWilliams finished 18th in the country in scoring at 19.5 points per game, but in Region 16 play she registered 21.4. Masyn exploded for 31 against nationally ranked Vincennes and topped 20 points in 13 of her last 20 games. In an interesting twist McWilliams never had a 20 point game as a high schooler at Saxony Lutheran. This season she improved her three point percentage by 10 points…

McWilliams has selected Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville to play Division One basketball. Masyn says the Cougars showed her some love…

Masyn says she’ll study psychology and wants to help catch bad guys for a profession…

McWilliams helped lead MAC to a 20-10 record this season. She’ll try and turn around an SIUE program that went 3-26 this year.
