Major road closure in northern Jefferson County begins

(Imperial) Those that live or travel through north-central Jefferson County will be affected by a major road closure due to a large improvement project that starts today (Friday). Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Grant Bissell says makes plans for alternate routes and don’t be caught off-guard.
This road project, which was planned and bided out by Jefferson County Public Works, will have several phases taking place in the next few years. The ten-million-dollar project to improve Old Lemay Ferry Road will be completely finished in 2025.
