Making Wrestling History at Herky, Julie Britton Comments on Winning Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy Athlete of the Week Award

(HERCULANEUM) A couple of “first-evers” in Herculaneum wrestling history lands Julie Britton the Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy Play It Forward Athlete of the Week award.

The freshman Britton, who is the only girl at Herky currently wrestling, became the first girl in the school’s history to earn a first-place medal and a plaque and she did both of those things in the Brentwood Tournament this past Saturday.

Britton was able to pin her opponent in the first period of the championship to earn the medal and then it turns out that her run through the tournament earned her enough points to receive a 3rd place team plaque.

Britton thinks that this achievement is step one to an appearance at state.

Britton’s pick for her charitable 25-dollar donation from the Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy is the Festus Animal Shelter. For winning Athlete of the Week, Herky’s Julie Britton also received a t-shirt and certificate.
