Mineral Area 14U Advances to Championship Bracket at Regional Tourney

(Garden City, KS) The Mineral Area 14U Babe Ruth baseball team advanced to championship bracket play today at the Regional Tournament in Garden City, Kansas. After a rough start to the tournament, the Mineral Area baseball team rebounded with three wins in a row. The Missouri state champions fell to Colorado 10-0 to open pool play on Friday. But on Saturday Mineral Area notched wins over Junction City, Kansas 15-4 and Dickinson, North Dakota 12-3. Then yesterday Mineral Area beat the host team Garden City 4-0. The team from Mineral Area qualified for bracket play as the 3rd seed and play West Fargo, North Dakota at 12:30 this afternoon. Head Coach Levi Rawson says he and his kids are confident heading into bracket play.

If the Bulldogs win, they’ll play for the Regional Championship at 3:30 this afternoon against the winner of Centennial, Colorado, and Rapid City, South Dakota. The Midwest Plains champ moves on to the 14-year-old Babe Ruth World Series August 14th through the 21st in Ottumwa, Iowa.
