Missouri Chapter of Pedatrics Lead Doctor Responds to A.G.’s Mask Mandate Lawsuits

(Jefferson City) The Missouri Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics is responding to Attorney General Eric Schmitt and his lawsuit to block mask mandates in Missouri public schools.

Schmitt says a mask mandate “flies in the face of science, especially given children’s low risk of severe illness and death and their low risk of transmission.”

But Doctor Kristin Sohl, who serves as president of Missouri’s pediatric academy, says much has changed with the virus compared to a year ago.

The doctor encourages Missourians to talk to a healthcare expert you can trust.

As of right now, around 50 Missouri school districts have initiated mask mandates with more districts putting them in place every day.

The Cape Girardeau School District issued a mask mandate on Tuesday after just a few days without one since the new school year started.
