(Farmington) Missouri has lost access to its own hospital data it uses to guide coronavirus response efforts.

Last week, President Trump directed the nation’s hospitals to shift the way they report data to the federal government and how the information is publicly released.

The announcement triggered the Missouri Health Department to post a notice on its website reporting the daily and weekly updates about the number of hospitalizations and availability of beds and ventilators would be temporarily stopped.

Missouri Hospital Association spokesman Dave Dillon says the move is a major disruption and says we will be very much in the dark.

The association is creating an alternate reporting system for Missouri hospitals.
