Missouri Spring Turkey Hunting Season Begins Monday

(Farmington) Missouri’s spring turkey hunting season begins Monday morning but it might be a little more difficult for hunters than in years past.

John Burke is the National Wild Turkey Federation district biologist.

He says the turkey population has been decreasing in Missouri.

He says non-native invasive plants are one of the problems.

The Missouri Department of Conservation and the Wild Turkey Federation have raised the most money of any state to protect the wild turkey population population.

Turkey hunting season begins in Missouri on Monday and will continue through Sunday, May 7th.
