MoDOT Dealing with Loss in Revenue from the State’s Gas Tax

(Jefferson County) Money allocated to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) through the states gas tax is expected to be lower than usual.

The loss in revenue is contributed to the past couple of months where not as many people were traveling across the state due to the Coronaviurs.

MoDOT Area Engineer Stephen O’Connor says they are still trying to get final budget numbers figured out.

Even with the projected revenue loss, O’Connor says all of their maintenance workers continue to show up for work everyday.
