MoDOT Preparing for Spring Related Road Hazards

(Jefferson County) A commonly dealt with problem for Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) workers is filling potholes between the winter and spring months.

While potholes continued to be filled on roadways maintained by the state, MoDOT Engineer Stephen O’Connor says their attention turns to another road hazard in the spring and summer.

When water has flooded the road, the best thing to do is turn around, don’t drown.

So far river flooding has not been a concern this spring. However, MoDOT has dealt with a few imminent flash flooding situations with heavy downpours of rain in a short amount of time.
