Kenzie Wolk Talks About Her Festus Mural

(FESTUS) Those driving or walking by Schneider Park at the corner of Main and Mill Streets in Festus may notice a nearly completed mural. Kenzie Wolk of Ste. Genevieve is the artist who is painting a floral mural on the concrete walls of the park. Wolk, the 37 year old married mom of three school aged children recently finished a mural on the side of the gymnasium at Hillsboro High School.  That particular work  stretches nearly fifty yards and welcomes people to the campus. Wolk needed a scissor lift to complete the Hillsboro job.  She says she uses  a step ladder and scaffolding to reach the work while accompanied with  a combination of brushes and a paint gun to apply the paint.

Kenzie says the city asked her to create a design to beautify the park.

According to Wolk, she came up with a few ideas and the city decided on her floral design.

Kenzie says she hopes people feel good when they see the mural’s completion next week.
