New Festus police radio coverage is active

(Festus) The new radio dispatching system is now active for the Festus Police Department. Festus City Administrator Greg Camp says the new system was enacted on Monday, and after years of working on the problem, it feels great to have it up and running.

The funding to allow for the new radio system stems from Festus Proposition Public Safety, which was passed by the voters in August of 2019. Other improvements that were made possible from that proposition were the hiring of additional firefighters, adding a full-time fire chief, and increasing police department salaries.
