New Senate Bill Could Reunite Foster Children with their Parents
(JEFFERSON CITY) State Senate Bill 863, sponsored by Sen. Holly Rehder (R-27th), is a clarification on a law regarding the reuniting of foster children and their parents, who are being treated for opioid addiction with medications. The new bill states that medication assisted treatments can not be the sole reason to keep children and parents from reuniting. Rehder says the old version of the law was misinterpreted.

Rehder tells us what medication assisted treatment does.

The bill has passed out of the Senate Health and Wellness Committee.
