New Waterways Regulations Now In Place

(Jefferson City) The Environmental Protection Agency has new regulations on the nation’s waterways. ‘

In response, the Missouri Farm Bureau says the E.P.A. continues to “play games” with farmers, ranchers and private property owners.

Farm Bureau President Garrett Hawkins says the E.P.A. seems “committed to the status quo of confusion and government control”.

The revised rule is in response to a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in May that restricted which waters are subject to federal Clean Water Act protections.

The E.P.A. Administrator says the agency has provided “a clear path forward” that adheres to the supreme court’s ruling.
