No certainty on marijuana growers coming to Ste. Genevieve County

There is no guarantee that medical marijuana will be coming to Ste. Genevieve County.
Presiding county commissioner Gary Nelson says while 2 companies are looking to grow cannabis in the county, it’s a matter of getting the ok from the state.
Nelson says the state has run into more applications than they initially expected because they never expected to have to deal with legal medical marijuana to begin with.
State officials have said those who submitted to earn a license to grow or sell marijuana should know if their application was approved by the end of the year.
