North County Boys Head to Sikeston for Class 5 Sectional Clash Tonight on J98

(Sikeston) The North County boys continue their playoff run down south as they head to Sikeston to take on the Bulldogs in the Class 5 Sectionals tonight on J98.

The Raiders come into the matchup winners of their first district championship since 1995 after knocking off Farmington 78-59 in the title game on Friday.

North County had to overcome a slow start in that one, and afterward, head coach Jimmy Palmer said he was proud of his team’s performance.

Sikeston had to go through a buzzsaw to earn their first district crown since 2018.

They knocked off Cape Central in the semifinals 68-62 and then took down Cape Notre Dame 69-54 in the championship.

However, the Bulldogs are no stranger to winning as they’ve now won eight districts and reached four Final Four’s since 2010.

Longtime Bulldogs’ head coach Gregg Holifield says he does not see many weaknesses with this North County team.
