North County Hosts Vashon in Class 4 State Quarterfinal

(Bonne Terre) It’s been a season to remember for the North County football program. Last week, the Raiders defeated Hillsboro to secure a district championship for the first time in 17 years. This week, NCHS is trying to make their mark on history again as they are looking for their first State Quarterfinal win since the 4A State Runner-Up team in 1997. However, standing in the way are the Wolverines of Vashon High School. There are a lot of similarities with both these schools, both come into this game with only one loss and are spearheaded by a dynamic rushing attack. Raiders Coach Brian Jones tells us a little more about this Vashon team.

The North County Raiders have their own pool of talent led by this week’s Applebees of Farmington Athlete of the Week, senior QB Nolan Reed. While Reed is a dynamic player in his own right, he likes to see his teammates pull off a big play.

Coach Brian Jones says the whole team shares the same mentality as Reed.

At the end of the day, Coach Jones wants to see his team playing their best football tomorrow.

The Class 4 State Quarterfinal is tomorrow at 1 on J-98 as North County hosts Vashon in Bonne Terre. The Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show starts at 12:30.
