(North County) Beth and Thomas Forbes have already seen two of their children graduate from North County high school and then turn into All-Americans at the collegiate level; Drew as a SEMO football player and Holly as a MAC basketball player. However, the most impressive athlete in the family may just turn out to be 13 year old Brett. Brett was born with spina bifida, a closing of the backbone around the spinal cord, which causes him paralysis from the knees down. But Brett hasn’t let that slow him down. He plays wheelchair basketball with the St. Louis based Rolling Rams. The Rams will play an exhibition game Thursday night at the North County gym against able bodied students and teachers who will borrow some wheelchairs for the night. Beth says the exhibition serves as a fundraiser for the team, which must travel great distances to play in games…

The Rams have won all five previous exhibitions at North County and are performing well again…

The Rolling Rams play in the Disabled Athletes Sports Association and are taking another run at nationals…

You can check out the Rolling Rams and make a donation Thursday at North County. Game time is 6:30 with the doors opening at 6:00.
