North County’s Claywell named Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week

(Bonne Terre) North County Raiders senior Wil Claywell is the Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week.

Claywell finished off a terrific high school golf career by taking ninth at the Class 4 state championships last Monday and Tuesday at Twin Hills Golf Club in Joplin.

Claywell found himself tied for fourth after his first round of 74, only 2 over par and 3 strokes off the lead.

While he would come up short of chasing down the leaders, Claywell still fired a strong 6-over-78 on his last 18 holes to ensure a medalist finish.

As Athlete of the Week, he receives a T-shirt, a certificate and a coupon for a free entree at Applebee’s in Farmington.
