North County’s Claywell Named Dream Team Golfer Of The Year After Sophomore Season

(BONNE TERRE, Mo.) – This spring, area coaches voted Wil Claywell as the 2019 Dream Team Golfer of the Year after he put together another great season for the North County Raiders. In his sophomore season, Claywell won the invididual district championship and qualified for the Class 3 state tournament for the second year in a row. He said he liked how he built off of last year’s success.
Now a two-time Dream Team athlete, Claywell has experienced immediate success after only playing golf for two years. He said after participating in other sports in the past, he’s decided to focus solely on his golf career.
Even though Claywell didn’t like how he finished in the most recent state tournament, he still has high goals for the next two years.
This season, Claywell had a nine-hole average of two-over-par and an 18-hole average of six-over-par.
