(CEDAR HILL) The Northwest football Lions remain the only undefeated team in the Jefferson County area as they have started the season 4-0.

The Lions have wins over Francis Howell North, Parkway South, Riverview Gardens and Seckman, a Suburban West Conference rival. Despite graduating 17 of 22 starters from last year’s squad and having a lot of unknowns going into this season, positionally-speaking, the Lions have found success.

Lions 3rd-year head coach Corey Toenjes feels that his guys still have a lot to prove and it’s their match-up against Lafayette on Friday that he believes gives them that chance.

Trey Davis, quarterback, and Johnny Daffron, defensive lineman, have been excellent so far this season for the Lions. So good, that Davis is 5th in the greater St. Louis-area in passer rating while Daffron is tied for 1st in sacks in the greater St. Louis-area.

Through the first four games of 2019, Northwest football Lions have scored 32.25 points per game this season while only allowing 10.25. The Lions will be hosting the 3-1 Lafayette Lancers on Friday at 7 p.m.
