(CEDAR HILL) The Northwest softball Lions are state bound after an 18-8 win over Webster Groves on Monday in the Class 4 quarterfinals.

The win over the Statesmen was the 26th of the season for Northwest, which continues to add onto the most wins in a single season in Lions softball history.

Head Coach Dan Davison walks us through the range of emotions the girls felt after realizing they had just reached state.

Coach Davison responded to being asked what a trip to state means for him as well.

Northwest softball won a state championship back in 1986 but have reached the Final Four only twice since then. The 26-4 Northwest Lions will play Friday morning at 10 in Springfield against 25-5 Raymore-Peculiar for a chance to play for the Class 4 title.
