(Jefferson County) November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and Mercy Hospital wants to remind everyone the importance of getting your lungs screened.

Cindy Brewer is a Registered Nurse Navigator for Mercy Hospital Jefferson. She goes over the the mortality statistics with lung cancer.

According to Brewer, Mercy Jefferson offers a way to possibly discover lung cancer at an early stage through Low Dose CT Lung Screening.

Brewer adds anyone who is a smoker or has other risk factors and are between the ages of 55 and 77 should consider being screened for lung cancer.
