Old Monroe woman arrested after HWY 30 accident

One person was injured in a three-vehicle accident on Highway 30 at Old Sugar Creek Road on Wednesday afternoon. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 39-year-old Julia Papayik of Old Monroe was driving a 2006 Cadillac Escalade east on 30 and ran a red light, and struck a 2023 Chevy Express driven by 37-year-old Thomas Barlet of Imperial. The impact caused Barlet’s vehicle to strike a 2008 GMC Sierra pick-up truck driven by 60-year-old Kevin McRoberts of High Ridge. Papayik was the only person injured and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South with minor injuries.

Papayik was later charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated for Drugs.
