(PERRYVILLE, Mo.) – A lot of optimism surrounds this year’s Perryville Pirates girls soccer team. The Pirates lost just one of 11 starters from last year’s team that finished 15-5-1 and earned the JCAA conference title. Pirates coach Jerry Fulton said because of the low turnover on the roster, the expectations are just as high as last season.

One of Perryville’s key returners is Kirsten Jannin, who notched 16 goals and 10 assists and earned a spot on the J-98 Dream Team. Fulton said he’s excited to have not only her, but other supporting players as well.

Fulton said his team can top the accomplishments from last year by getting out to faster starts.

The Perryville girls soccer team gets the regular season start at home on Monday, March 18 when they host Kelly.
