Pevely clean-up efforts after the tornado

(Pevely) The City of Pevely was one of the hardest hit areas after the Saturday night storm, and an EF1 tornado was confirmed to have gone through their area. The tornado was determined to have touched down on I-55 and continued east across Highway 67 near the Pevely Flea Market and towards Oak Valley Golf Course and Resort. Pevely City Administrator Andy Hixson says his biggest concern was safety.

Hixson says the clean-up efforts continue around town.

Several electric poles were snapped along Highway 67 across from the Pevely Flea Market, and Hixson says several large trees were lost at Oak Valley.

Las Brisas Mexican Restaurant suffered damage to its outdoor patio but has since re-opened for business. Cleanup efforts by Pevely City workers continue. There were no injuries reported and no fatalities.
