(DE SOTO, Mo.) – Two 4-4 teams will battle on the gridiron in the final week of the regular season as the Potosi Trojans visit the De Soto Dragons Friday night on J-98. Both teams faced each other to close out the season last year and played a double-overtime thriller, with the Dragons prevailing 13-10 on a game-winning field goal. This time around, Dragons head coach Chris Johnson said he expects this game to be just as close.

After a 51-point performance against Fredericktown and a 14-8 upset win over Hillsboro in weeks prior, De Soto couldn’t get the offense going last week as they fell 14-0 to Ste. Genevieve. Coach Johnson said he wants the offense to find some consistency.

Potosi had a three-game winning streak snapped last week on the road against North County. Trojans head coach Ed Haar said their strong running game can still make improvements.

Not only can Potosi grab some extra points in the standings with a win over a Class 4 team, but coach Haar said his team is ready to avenge last year’s close defeat.

Potosi and De Soto will take center stage Friday night with kickoff set for 7 p.m. on J-98. The Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show will begin at 6 p.m.
