Ride the Smokey Bear Hot Air Balloon This Weekend

(Van Buren) He fought forest fires for many years and his slogan continues to be one that most people over 45 will know by heart.

“Only you can prevent forest fires.”

His name of course is Smokey Bear and he will be making a grand appearance this total solar eclipse weekend here in southeast Missouri.

Big Spring is located about four miles downstream from Van Buren on the Current River in Carter County.
