(Springfield, Mo.) A woman from Salem was flown to South Cox Hospital in Springfield after being involved in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday evening in Dent County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident took place on Highway 19, five miles south of Salem, when a Chrysler Town and Country driven by 33-year-old Regina Connell of Salem began to slow for a turning vehicle ahead and was struck in the rear by a Chevrolet Equinox driven by 28-year-old Erica Hopkins of Salem.

The Equinox then crossed the left side of the road and struck a fence while the Town and Country was pushed off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and a telephone pole which caused Connell to be ejected from the vehicle.

Hopkins did not sustain any injuries but Connell sustained moderate injuries in the crash.
