(IMPERIAL) Seckman Athletic Director Ryun Kasten joined KJFF Sports Talk for the Jefferson County Athletic Director Summer Series on Thursday to discuss the upcoming 2019-2020 sports season.

Nick Baer is the new head coach for the Jags football team, taking the reins for Doug Baker who stepped down after three years running the show. Kasten has high hopes for Baer and the football team that is coming off its first-ever winning season since the school opened in 1997.

A big deal on the Seckman campus is homecoming week.

Homecoming Week begins September 30th with the Homecoming game on Friday, October 4th against Oakville. Jaguars softball is coming off of a 17-6 campaign where they reached the Class 4 District 1 championship game before falling to rival Northwest. Kasten says that Steve Bonastia will be running the show again and that this season could be another strong one.

Softball will begin the season on Friday, August 30th against Farmington with the district championship rematch against Northwest on Monday, September 23rd at home.

Volleyball is also coming off of a strong 2018, going 22-12 under Paula Baechle.

The first serve of the volleyball season will be Tuesday, September 3rd at home against Jefferson R-7.
