Seckman’s Johnston named Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week

(Imperial) Seckman Jaguars senior Gavin Johnston is the Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week.

It’s been a strong start to Johnston’s final high school baseball season, captured by his play in 3 wins last week.

Johnston had 2 doubles and a triple in 8 at-bats during those victories, mixing in 3 runs batted in and a stolen base.

He also pitched a gem in the win over Pattonville, allowing no earned runs and striking out 12 in a complete game.

Jaguars head coach Brad Hagedorn says the journey to get back on the field has allowed Johnston to show what he can do.

Johnston has a .390 batting average at the plate and a phenomenal 0.60 earned-run average on the mound, helping Seckman start the season 11-2.

As Athlete of the Week, he receives a T-shirt, a certificate and a coupon for a free entree from Applebee’s in Farmington.
